About Adam Levine

picAs the front man of GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist Maroon 5, Adam Levine has left an indelible mark on popular music. The primary songwriter for the band and a guitar player, Adam’s talents give Maroon 5 their signature sound. His heartfelt ballads and pop anthems have become part of the fabric of today’s pop music scene.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Levine first connected with Maroon 5 members Jesse Carmichael and Mickey Madden while attending Brentwood School in Los Angeles. The band has since gone on to have massive critical and commercial success worldwide.

Capturing their first of three GRAMMY Awards as “Best New Artist” of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won’t be Soon Before Long, which included hits like “Makes Me Wonder” and “If I Never See your Face Again.” In 2010, the band released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which was certified platinum. The collection featured two hit singles including the Hot AC smash “Misery” and the anthemic “Moves Like Jagger,” which climbed to the #1 spot on the Top 40, Hot AC and Billboard Hot 100 charts. The track has also become one of the best-selling singles of all time. Following the release of the album, both “Misery” and “Moves Like Jagger” received GRAMMY nominations.

Maroon 5’s fourth album Overexposed quickly reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music with all of the collection’s singles rising to the top of the charts. The third single off of the album, “Daylight,” claimed the # 1 spot on both Top 40 and Hot AC radio charts. In the process, the band set a record for the most #1’s (six in total) by a group in the Top 40 chart’s 20-year history. Maroon 5 wrapped one of the highest grossing tours of 2013, in conjunction with the album, with over 50 million dollars in ticket sales.

The group’s latest release, V, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and features the hit singles “Maps” and “Animals,” which hit #1 on the Top 40 chart. Maroon 5 recently released “Sugar,” the third single from their latest album. This February, the band will be embarking on a world tour that will kick off at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX on February 16, and take them all over North America and then Europe.
